What are the fees?
No service fees apply to Earn. Vault carries a service fee of 0.6% per year on the crypto assets held. This is calculated daily and charged monthly.
In addition to service fees, transaction costs apply. Please refer to our fee schedule for a full overview of all rates.
How can Earn be offered without service fees?
Within Earn, you lend your crypto assets to Amdax Yield B.V. Amdax Yield lends these assets to carefully selected professional counterparties and receives a fee in return. That fee covers the operational costs of Earn, which is why we do not charge service fees.
Can I trade or stake crypto within Earn?
No. Trading and staking are only available from Vault. If you want to trade or stake, simply transfer your crypto from Earn to Vault.
Are my crypto assets in Earn always immediately available?
When withdrawing crypto assets from Earn, a delay of up to 7 days may occur in certain situations depending on market conditions. For Vault, crypto assets are always immediately accessible. For crypto assets that are being staked, a waiting period may apply when you wish to unstake.
How are my crypto assets held within Earn?
All client assets are held within the custody environment of the Foundation. Within that, a separate environment has been set up for Amdax Yield, which holds its own custody space as a client of Amdax. When you lend your crypto to Amdax Yield, ownership transfers to Amdax Yield. The Foundation then holds the crypto on behalf of Amdax Yield, and no longer on your behalf. In return, you have a contractual right to the redelivery of the same type and amount of crypto.
What are the risks of Earn?
Earn is an unregulated service offered by Amdax Yield B.V., a sister company of Amdax. Amdax Yield does not hold a MiCAR licence. The protections that apply to your Vault portfolio do not apply to Earn.
The key risks are: your crypto temporarily transfers to Amdax Yield and is no longer covered by the Foundation's protections. If Amdax Yield or any of its counterparties fails to meet its obligations, you risk not recovering some or all of your crypto. Please read our Risk Warning and the Lending Terms carefully before using Earn.
Why does Earn fall outside MiCAR?
MiCAR regulates crypto asset services such as custody, trading, and asset management. The granting and entering into of crypto asset loans currently falls outside the scope of MiCAR. The Lending Terms therefore apply to Earn, governed by Dutch law.
