Do you want to add a withdrawal address to withdraw crypto to? That address must first be whitelisted (verified). How this works depends on the type of wallet.
You add a new address in the web environment. This is not yet possible in the app. In the web environment, go to More, choose “Address book” and select “Add new address”. Select the crypto asset and indicate whether it is a wallet you own yourself (‘Self-hosted’) or a wallet at another crypto company, for example Bitvavo (‘Other crypto company’). Enter a personal label and the crypto address.
Wallet at another crypto company
Press Continue and search for the crypto company your address belongs to. Is the company not in the list? Then contact us for help. Enter your password and multi-factor authentication (for example the 6-digit code from an authenticator app, or a code by text message). At the end you get an overview of all the information you entered — if something is not right, go back to change it. You will now find the whitelisted address with its status in your address book.
Your own (self-hosted) wallet
You will be asked to connect your wallet to Amdax, to confirm that you are the owner. The menu differs per wallet type; with MetaMask, for example, you get a request to connect to ‘notabene.id’, the provider of the wallet connection feature. Click ‘Connect’, sign the standard message that confirms you are the owner, and click ‘Confirm’. As soon as you see a green check mark, click ‘Complete’ and then ‘Continue’. Enter your password and multi-factor authentication. At the end you get an overview of all the information you entered — if something is not right, go back to change it. You will now find the whitelisted address with its status in your address book.
Connection not working? Whitelist your address manually
Does the connection with your hardware wallet (such as Trezor or Ledger) not work, or does whitelisting with the steps above fail for another reason? Then you whitelist your address manually, with a photo — this is a full alternative, not an emergency solution.
- Take a photo of yourself next to a screen that shows your external crypto address. Do this from a logged-in environment of the wallet you want to send the money to, on a laptop or mobile.
- Make sure your face and the wallet address are both clearly visible and readable. Upload the photo in your document center: in the web environment, go to More and choose Documents. This verifies your identity straight away.
- Also copy and paste the address you want to whitelist into the document. Provide the document in Word or PDF format.
Then contact us via the chat. We will then start the procedure to whitelist your address. The address becomes active within 48 hours, and you will receive an e-mail as soon as it is available for withdrawals.
Automatic whitelisting via Ledger does not work
Do you get no connection request on your Ledger, or does the connection get stuck, for example with Solana? Then whitelist your address manually. That route also confirms that you are the owner of the address.
Take a photo of yourself with the address on the display of your Ledger. Make sure your face and the address are clearly readable. Also create a Word or PDF document in which you write out the address. Provide both as in the steps above and then contact us via the chat.
