If a third party unexpectedly gains access to your Amdax account, we recommend you follow these steps:
1. Contact our compliance department
- Send an email to hello@amdax.com.
- Indicate in the subject line that it is urgent or an emergency. In the body of the text, explain that your account has been compromised.
- We will investigate whether a third party has access to your account and take appropriate steps.
2. Reset your password
- Set a new password that is difficult to guess for your Amdax account. Also, do not use a password that you use for other accounts.
- How to create a strong password is explained here.
3. Enable two-factor authentication
- Enable two-factor authentication for your account. This makes your account even more secure, and when logging in, you must enter both your password and a code on your mobile.
- What two-factor authentication is and how to enable it is explained here.
4. Reset the password of your email account and enable two-factor authentication there as well
- Ensure that your email account linked to your Amdax account is well secured. Do this by enabling two-factor authentication for your email account and periodically checking haveibeenpwned.com to see if your email account has been hacked. Also, set a new password here that is difficult to guess. Do not use a password that you use for other accounts.
5. Consider formatting your computer
- Contact our fraud department via hello@amdax.com. Ask if there is malware present.
- If malware is possibly present, we recommend wiping your hard drive entirely and reinstalling Windows.
