Crypto staking is an additional opportunity to generate returns with your crypto assets. Some crypto assets can be locked for a specific period. In return, you receive a weekly reward. We take care of all the technical work for you and always stake the crypto assets securely from our vault.
How does crypto staking work?
In a blockchain network, transactions are validated by participants known as nodes. The way they achieve consensus on the order and validity of transactions varies by blockchain. In Proof of Stake, this is done by participants staking their crypto assets to the network. By locking the underlying crypto assets in the network, reliability is demonstrated, and in return, a staking reward is paid out.
Why stake crypto with Amdax?
Passive Income
With staking, you receive passive income in the form of interest. You put your crypto assets to work. The interest you receive can be automatically reinvested, allowing you to benefit from compounding interest.
Clear
Amdax takes care of the technical work and starts working for you right away. You receive a fixed interest rate, which is periodically determined. The interest is paid out weekly at a fixed time.
Secure
Crypto assets are in safe hands at Amdax. Custody at Amdax means real custody. Even with staking, we maintain full-reserve custody: all assets remain stored with us. Thanks to our professional infrastructure, your crypto assets are stored very securely.
Supported crypto assets, returns and unbonding period
In your MyAmdax environment, you'll find all the latest staking information in one place. You can see which crypto assets you can currently stake, the return that comes with each, and how long the unbonding period is. That unbonding period is worth knowing about: it's the time between the moment you unstake your crypto assets and the moment you can freely use them again.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to own crypto assets to be able to stake?
Yes, you can only earn interest on assets that you keep with Amdax.
How do I start staking?
Amdax offers several crypto assets for staking. When you own one of these crypto assets, you have the option to stake. If you do not yet own any crypto assets eligible for staking, you can purchase them through Amdax. In your personal Amdax environment, you can directly stake the desired crypto assets.
Why is it possible to stake some crypto assets and not others?
Within a blockchain network, transactions are validated by all participants, the so-called nodes. How they reach consensus on the order and validity of transactions varies per blockchain. In proof-of-stake, this is done by participants who make their crypto assets available to the network through staking. By staking, you contribute to the security of the network. Staking is thus part of proof-of-stake blockchains and not available on other types of blockchains.
Can I withdraw staked crypto assets?
No, as long as crypto assets are actively staked, you cannot withdraw or trade them. You must first unstake your crypto assets by submitting an unstaking request. Note: some crypto assets have a waiting period. After the waiting period, your crypto assets can be freely traded.
What are the risks of staking?
Be aware that staking carries risks. By staking your crypto assets, you cannot sell your position. You must first unstake your crypto assets. When we receive the unstaking request, it will be processed the next business day. For crypto assets with a waiting period, you must wait for this period to end before your assets are freely tradable again.
Does Amdax apply compound interest to my staked crypto?
Yes, the staking rewards you receive in the form of the respective crypto asset are automatically staked, allowing you to earn compound interest.
Where can I find my staking rewards?
Rewards can be found in the balance overview in your client environment.
